Meaning
A systematic disruption of an individual’s confidence in personal sensory assessment occurs when external feedback repeatedly rejects direct experiential reporting. Being invalidated strips an operator of internal epistemic authority, transferring the determination of factual correctness to an outside observer. The condition stops applying when an independent, verifiable physical artifact confirms the original assessment without social mediation.
Perceptual Erosion
Repeated exposure to contradictory assertions degrades the trust a builder maintains in personal perception. When an operator is continually invalidated during production, internal certainty regarding quality collapses into chronic hesitation.
External Witness
Dependency on outside confirmation forces the affected actor to seek third-party validation before committing to decisive action. An individual who has been systematically invalidated attaches to external collaborators primarily to secure validation that personal work is real and functional. The secondary witness compensates for destroyed epistemic authority.
Correction Cost
Independent judgment requires prolonged exposure to unmanipulated feedback loops where physical results speak directly to the worker. For a person previously invalidated, every technical choice consumes double the cognitive load because the assessment must be verified against external references before execution. The restored baseline requires uncorrupted evidence over extended time.
