Constraint is a mechanism that restricts the availability of a resource to specific conditions or defined periods. A bounded supply only exists when a particular trigger is met or a specific contract is active. It prevents the indefinite drain of capacity by setting boundaries on when and how a person or system provides output.
The arrangement relies on a clear beginning and end to any transaction of energy or time. Without these limits, the work becomes a constant obligation. It is no longer a discrete delivery.

Requirements for activating a delivery must be stated before the work begins. A bounded supply remains dormant until the external room or partner meets the agreed criteria. This prevents the provider from spending attention on tasks that have not yet reached the necessary threshold of preparation.

Protection of the individual seat depends on the ability to refuse requests that fall outside the defined scope. By using a bounded supply, the person holding the seat preserves their hours for high-value tasks. Losing them to a general pool of demand is avoided.
This limit acts as a buffer against the erosion of personal capacity. When the boundary is breached, the cost to the provider increases at an exponential rate as focus is split across too many competing needs. Maintaining the boundary is a structural requirement for long-term production.
