Meaning
Core mechanism that generates the primary output and the economic value of an arrangement. The engine consists of the people, processes and tools that convert capital and energy into a product that a client is willing to pay for. It is the part of the arrangement that does the actual building.
Power Source
Input of energy, hours and attention required to keep the work moving at a steady rate. Without a constant supply of these resources, the engine will slow down and eventually stop, leading to a failure of the exchange. The person in the seat must manage these inputs carefully to avoid burning out the capacity of the partners.
Work Rate
Measure of the volume and quality of the output produced by the mechanism over a specific period of time. A high-functioning engine produces a surplus of value that can be used to pay for the regulation of the arrangement and the revenue of the owners. If the rate drops too low, the cost of the seat becomes greater than the price the market is willing to pay.
Mechanical Friction
Resistance that occurs when the parts of the arrangement are not properly aligned or the terms are unclear. This friction drains energy from the engine and reduces the efficiency of the entire process. Reducing this resistance is the primary task of the operator who wishes to maintain a high level of production.
